multi-scenario planning

Frêney realized a forecasting model for a company leader in the treatment and coating services of metals and metal machining.

The top management needed a decision support system to evaluate the opportunity to plan some investments in new machinery. With this decision, investment would increase the productivity and fulfil the managers' goal to simulate the effect on the break even points.

The project team worked with some basic scenario hypothesis to develop a what-if model. The model was implemented with an open source business intelligence solution. Some physical and monetary standards were taken from the cost accounting system. The model investigates the relationships between the cost of the new investment and its impact on margins.
